The origins of Disciples of Metal stem back to 1995, with a band called Mindtrip. Nick Pell and Graham Ferguson wrote original music and played cover songs together in the group until 1998. The two parted ways for over 20 years.
Fast forward to 2020, as the world stood still, Nick and Graham made light of the opportunity to begin writing new music together again. The project took the name Disciples of Metal and the music that would appear on their debut album was written between 2020 and 2021 while the recording wrapped up in April of 2022. While Graham handled the production, and the mixing, the two were able to have one of their major influences, Roland Grapow (Masterplan & Helloween) master the album at Grapow Studios in July 2022.
While the songs on the debut album consist mostly of new material, there are two older tracks; "Rain On Me" which was written in 1995, and "Disciples of Metal" which was based on a riff written back in 1997.
The band is currently wrapping up recording their second album. The new album is darker and heavier than the debut and will see a 2025 release.
To be continued...........
